NCIS DVD

NCIS team follows the imaginary Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents in a SWAT team is based in major Washington Navy Yard in Washington DC Pretty Little Liars DVD , is described in the actors and producers (on special features of the U.S. DVD release), and is distinguished by elements of comedy that work together, and character-based graphics.

The division of roles is what makes this show stand out among the others. They mix any crime if they have to deal with the state of the art technology Sex And The City DVD and the conversations during their studies with sarcasm and humor. Each episode is a team of Naval Intelligence out on missions to solve crimes, either locally or abroad, which expands to show the location of the dramatic quality. Every part of their mission The Closer DVD has a character in place to help the team solve crimes.

My favorite character is Abby, which describes a very intelligent woman who anyalizes team of materials and the odd quirky personality, clothes, and will show a series of interesting. I've always been satisfied with every episode, and the time to watch it every week House MD DVD , is a set time and schedule. The show is the realism, compassion, terror, murder to solve, and the team pulled together to solve a case. We recommend watching NCIS.

New MultiMedia Project

.

Are a number of common designs concepts that may most definitely turn into a hit in a babe tub areas.

Fairy tale Styles

There is so many story characters which are a good history during baby shower get-togethers. There are so many cool and simple things you could do with this story if you had more space. Something as simple as having a top-down picture of tea or a tea party set up labeling the parts or shaping your text like a tea leaf (as long as it's legible) or taking pictures of people drinking tea (boring but at least there are people) or including a map with all the coffee/tea stops on campus or including pictures of the different types of tea leaves with break downs of what's different about their taste and why they are healthier over others. Also, I don't understand the reason for having two huge columns? This makes the page look more like a book than a newspaper and that's intimidating to your reader. The subheads are nice but you could've inserted tons of breakout information along the way. In fact, I'd say most of this would be a short form story rather than long form. The use of green is smart, but so much more could've been done with this story/page. Just start thinking MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE! And as a designer, demanding that you get more. If you want/need breakout information, just bug the shit out of them until they give it to you. Writers have the information, but don't always realize the need for packaging things. So help them figure out what can be bite sized and what has to be told long form. And if they don't give it to you, read through the story and do it yourself, present it convincingly and hope they don't say no.Just remind them that the future of journalism is not how well you can right a 2000 word story, or make a graphic or compose a picture. It's about how well you can tell any story at any time in any way. It's about packaging stories correctly and allowing the reader to get the most information in the least amount of time. As a designer, you are on the forefront of that future - show it off.

Critique: Kathleen Morton - Miami University of Ohio

The overarching problem with these three pages is that your writers need to shut their damn word holes. But that's a really hard battle, that's like telling photographers to crop an arm out. In the meantime, you as a designer need to include MORE entry points. You've got a good handling of shapes and set up but with a college audience, you need to give them as many places to start a story or page as possible. This page has an okay amount, but what would really make this page awesome is some by the numbers boxes or refers to the next games or pullquotes or analysis sidebars. I see that you have some of these things on your rails, but these bits of info would be better served inside the story in order to 1) break up the grey and 2) keep related items together. These rails are better served inside so you can do bigger, better things on your covers.Which brings me to the lack of dominant images on each page. There is nothing but nasty text anchoring your pages. This is most important with sports. There's nothing like a big fat picture that sums up the most important sports moment of the day/week. Whether it's a sad face, a dunk shot, a missed pass, a frozen batter, etc. Sports is the most literal section and often the story can be told with a picture and a "that was great, back to you bob" story. In fact, some of the most powerful weekly sports covers are lead by wild art and a by the numbers box. Take a look at The Washington Post's daily sports pages you can find on sportsdesigner.com.

[New Topic] Critique: Kathleen Morton - Miami University of Ohio

This was our front page for 4.3.07. It is neither dominant nor compelling. A building shot should rarely be an option, let alone at that size. Also, as a transparency, it is not dominant more than it is a wallpaper. Also, what is the reason for it being transparent? It has no function. As Immel mentioned, I wonder how hard it was to read that text. I don't know how your printers are but if this is how dark it was (50% transparent?) on screen, I can imagine it was darker (75%) in print. But it was probably particularly frustrating to read in the window and entryway areas where the colors fluctuate. Save your transparencies for more solid-colored pictures or something truly meant to be used as a watermark/wallpaper (basic shapes, grassy nolls, blended colors, etc.)Also, that package's decks are the same size, which means you consider both stories equally important. Though this might be somewhat true, there is undoubtedly one story that is better and more pertinent, therefore it becomes the designer's and news editor's job to show the reader which one they should read first by unbalancing the story sizes or deck styles.Next time, if the building shot is all you have, play it as a regular picture and play your stories around it (one as a 1 column rail and the other as an under block, for example) and use different styled decks/nutgrafs to show importance. Play the picture small (3 columns) because there's nothing there. This will help the page be more modular and have more movent and will also allow for more stories on the cover. Also, just because it's supposed to be the big story of the week, doesn't mean it has to have art. You can package stories on the cover in a prominent way while letting some softer news lead with better art, that way you're not stuck using a picture like this.Otherwise, I'd have to see it closer to say much else. Hope I wasn't too rough.

[New Topic] Critique: Jenn LeBlanc - Metropolitan State College of Denver

This is the Church of Latter Day Saints in SLC.
My lens was not big enough, so I took two sohts and put them together, the seam is basically at the base of the church.
How would you present this, as an illustration or as a photo composite. Anyway it has some great info on flash use. One of my favorite shooters, and mentor a Pulitzer -Prize winning photog with the Rocky recently had a rough night shooting a story at a casino, by the time he got around the chaos his strobe batteries were dead. Searching through his car with a maglight for backups, he got an idea...he lit the subject of the scene with the flashlight, and the photos are amazing, editor none the wiser. Where there is a will there IS a way. My best advice is to balance for the light falling on the most important part of the photograph and let the rest of it fall away. Believe me, shooting the Beerfest was a nightmare, the light was orange, and got darker and worse the later it got. Practice shooting in unavailable light. I happen to LOVE unavailable light because you tend to find one small piece of usable light that just happens to make it beautiful. So I pulled the image into photoshop to play around with the orientation a little. A few ruler lines and some weird cropping I realized I was trying to do what you already did. The line that I was trying to work with was the counter. Which you used very obviously here. However I just couldn't see it at first.I played around with one more version (below) that is pretty extreme based off the man's back. Like I said it is extreme, but maybe there is a use for it. I guess the question for me is this. You can find a line fairly easy, and shoot along it almost as a formula, so why would you do it? What is the purpose? Artistic? Focus on something? The University photographer here does almost every shoot for every brochure tiled off horizon. Now it's the school's photo style, but it's never playing off of lines or anything, so it looks like a gimic to me.Anyway. I've spent almost 20 minutes on this post now. I'm turning my head in every direction, and holding my hands to the screen to test other crops. I'm getting tired, and I'm starting to doubt everything I'm thinking about diagonals or off horizon shots. I'd say this photo with this crop does present it as more interesting than as a 'straight' shot. The straight shot is decent, but this cropped version brings more attention to the guy. So there's a use right there I guess.

Critique: Mike Higdon - University of Nevada, Reno

Maybe I'm just boring, but as a general rule I like diagonals when they play off of a line that is in the picture itself. That can be a visually traced line, like a corner of a building, or a perceived line connection multiple subjects. I've seen very few diagonals that I really liked. I don't try them myself, but kudos for trying. I don't think there is anything wrong with them, or any good reason for not trying, but not a big fan right now. This picture almost makes me sick. If I stare at it for a second, I get a feeling like I am falling. If you were falling yourself, nice job on the focus.

Critique: Mike Higdon - University of Nevada, Reno

This oneSeconded. I agree out of the two that this one is stronger. I like how close this one is compared to the other diagonal one. Regardless of the diagonal, which I will talk about in that post, I'd even go closer.I'm a big fan of tight crops. If anything I'd loose the left side (which I'm not sure adds anything), and basically cut this to a vertical. I'm looking at the kid anyway, and he's the story.  Other than that, from the angle it looks like there is one monster elmo with four eyes. A long line of cars isn't that interesting, and is a bit obvious. I would try to find something unique to make the photo stand out. You might find a commuter (you could put them in the story, what we call real life real news) and shoot them from inside the car as they go inch by inch. Or find a high spot from a rooftop that shows a major freeway interchange or multiple roads and freeways and shoot it from a tripod really slow (like a few seconds) at sun up or sun down to get some great colors. That way you get the city skyline, the freeway, and rows of lights moving through town, not to mention a nice looking photo. This will also work well if one direction is moving fast, and the other direction is at a dead stop. Pictures of cars lined up doesn't say a lot, and can feel static. You may also shoot from an overpass and wait for a person or a bike to go by in the foreground to show two types of commuters in one photo, while giving the pic more dimension and contrast. It's never a bad idea to get a person in the frame as opposed to just cars. Try to take the photo other people don't have the patience and forethought to take.

Critique: Jenn LeBlanc - Metropolitan State College of Denver

In these pictures, you can't see as many of the cars. It's what you see most in our paper as the headline font, flag font and decks and pullquotes. Different weights for different things. (Bold for news, light for features, text light italic for quotes, etc.)Utopia is ONLY used for body text and ONLY used at regular weight, nothing else.Whitney is our breakout font (some call this display fonts but I don't think that makes sense. A headline is more display than a breakout right?). Whitney has about 5 family trees (Condensed, Numeric and a few others) with about every weight you could think of. I use those a lot in many different forms for different effects. The CP on the new page is entirely in Whitney.Champion Gothic is our "END OF THE WORLD!" "CHAMPS!" and poster cover font. I also use it to mock other fonts (such as on my 007 page because it matches MGM's font) but I don't use it for anything else. Its weights are weird as hell. Light weight, feather weight, welter weight, etc. None of them really make sense, but they're drastic and pretty so who cares.

Critique: Mike Higdon - University of Nevada, Reno

I don't remember who it was, but I was at some student journalism conference back when I was a sophomore and this photojournalist guy who came to talk to us (I think he worked at the Seattle PI or the Seattle Times) said every photo needs three things. I'm not sure what the first two are, I was a little hung over, but the last thing he emphasized was light. He said he wouldn't take a photo if the light wasn't right. Now I though this was crazy, simply because no matter what the light, when you have an assignment you have to come back with a photo. I take this to mean that you have to do the best with what light you have. So ever since then I pay more attention to light than anything else. All a camera really is a device for recording light. So why not become good at seeing light. Sometimes I refer to photography as "chasing light," now this might seem cheesy, but it can be the difference between a boring photo and one that really pops. Oh yea now I remember, three things each photo needs to be a good photo - 1: good light. 2: good composition. 3: a moment/timing. So the next time you pick up the old SLR start looking at the way light interacts with your subjects and other elements in the frame. Light is as much of a subject as any of the people you shoot. And try all kinds of different types of exposures too. For every good photo I shoot there are 10 or 20 really bad ones.

[New Topic] Critique: Mike Higdon - University of Nevada, Reno

Same with this one. But one of the best parts about that movies are the camera angles and composition. For example, when the principal of the school is yelling at someone, the camera gets underneath him (he's leaning over his desk) and is looking almost directly up at him. As far as composition, many of the happy shots in the film have the sun directly in the shot and lens flares point to the characters and the action (they change direction to follow people). And oppositely in sad scenes, the lighting creates and overcast look. Before you rent the movie, make sure you read the synopsis incase you're not into that weird kinda thing. It's got the same mood as "PI" and "Donnie Darko," but a totally different plot than either of them. But then again, you could always just watch it on mute and love it to death.

[New Topic] "The Office" yields cinematic genius

I was watching the American version of "The Office" yesterday and noticed that the camera men on this show are extremely talented. All of us photographers could learn a lot about setting up a shot, creating directional art, using the rule of thirds and most importantly, using compelling close-ups and cropping (AKA framing). It doesn't matter that it's a TV show because it's easily translatable to photojournalism since "The Office" is a mockumentary and the same principles of "life capturing" can be used by us still photographers.Anyway, I recommend anyone who is serious about becoming a good photojournalist either watch reruns, rent the DVDs, borrow from a friend or buy it. Specifically season two, because the camera men start to get some real personalities and capture some intense moments. Make sure it's the American version though, the British version doesn't really offer anything compelling in the realm of cinemtography.

Critique: Kathleen Sullivan - Penn State University

I'd agree with Mrs. LeBlanc but would like to add a bit more. There are two main problems I see with this page (as well as some of the other stuff on your NPD.com profile). One: Your sizings are all off. For example, that football picture is far too large and competes a LOT with the CP. The same is true with the headlines. That CP headline should still be bigger than the strip headline (Strip=65pts, CP=72pts in this arrangement). The rail headlines are also too large since they've only been given one column. And your bottom headline should not be much larger than 35pts (if that). Your headlines need to show order of importance, but right now everything is pretty much equal. Two: There are no secondary text-based entry points at all on this page. Something you should develop into your design library are decks (AKA subheads, dropheads) and nutgrafs (those are the longer, smaller text based lead-ins that go above the byline). Without those, the reader has nothing to get into the story other than a headline, which is not always enough information. For example, instead of using that overline on the CP (which is too large and shoud have filled out the line), you should've used that same text as a deck under the "Ten years later..." headline. Especially when read in that order, it doesn't make sense These types of entry points are extremely valuable and help break up text, provide more information and get stories read. There are none of those here. Now I'm going nitpick on this page specifically. LeBlanc is right, there isn't much of a reason to make that picture black and white except to continue setting the mood. It was smart to screen it, but instead of BWing the picture I'd either A. desaturate like LeBlanc said or B. cool it down with a photo filter (dark blue) to make it seem depressing while leaving the color in it. But then again, that's still more photo editing than I'm comfortable with on a news CP.Second, your smaller 1column pictures clutter this page and leave it dirty. One of them (The rail picture, which lacks a subject and needed to be played bigger to understand anyway) should've been pushed to the jump, allowing that headline to go higher. Also, I'd wonder who decided to make a shooting into a rail instead of a strip. Clearly a shooting is more important than sports? Also, the amount of space (height) given to that strip, is large and clunky. You could've stream-lined it with a banner headline within the same amount of space, causing the picture to be smaller. It looks like you were worried about sticking to the grid on this one, which is great! But try using a 10 column (in place of a 5) or a 12 column (in place of a 6) in order to give yourself more picture sizing options - that would've solved the strip problem. This also helps half column mugshots and breakout boxes fit better. But don't think I mean 10/12 columns of text, everything still LOOKS like a 5/6 column page, it's just 10/12 in your screen.Something else you might consider using are kickers. Kickers would've been good for the shooting, the Jack Hanna and sports stories. You could've put "SHOOTING" above that picture, "SPEAKER" above Hanna and "Team ##, Team ##" where ## is the final score over the sports story. The shooting kicker would've allowed for a different headline. Also, to be SUPER nitpicky, more important stories should generally go on the right side. So if the shooting is more important, give it the bigger headline than the trustees. That's generally because readers start at the top and rotate down the right side. Don't remember why, it's just psychological. One last thing, and this is probably a style thing for your paper, so it's up to you. If you're going to use a screen, try not to stroke it or if those are your hair lines, give it more space - at least - around the top and bottom if you're going for that touching the edges effect, otherwise give it at least 20pts from the hairline. Also, your hairlines don't all have to be segments, it becomes confusing to the reader. Your horizontal or vertical lines can all be one straight line as long as the horizontal and verticals never touch. So you could've had one continuous line all the way across above hanna and one continuous line from the top down to the table of contents on the right (as long as they don't touch each other).Otherwise, I love your colors and your organization skills and picture play over all. If you don't already have a color palette, make one and stick to the colors you want. We use pastels, your look similar. For the folio color, I'd say don't use it for anything except folios and that screen color is perfect, maybe pick another one or two for just screens and then 1 or 2 colors for breakout boxes and then 3 or 4 special text colors and that's all you need. Red is of course, a must, but use it sparingly. Oh yah and beware of purple, it prints like shit.As for your style guide. It's always better to have more than not enough. We have 60 design library items (mostly breakoutboxes with every possible variation), 80 paragraph styles (and I'm still making some for Q&As) and I think...12 colors or less.Anyway, that's a lot, I apologize, but you asked for it! :)Good stuff though, this is a great start. Keep hierarchy in mind - communicate with your news editor - and keep trying stuff. Keep in mind you don't always have to shove everything together. Whenever possible and if something warrants it - air that stuff out.Good luck!

Critique: Mike Higdon - University of Nevada, Reno

The random arm doesn't bug me as much as the missing hand of #30. If that guy and the guy he's blocking are the focus, they shouldn't be mangled. I can imagine a hundred photos you describe that would be better than this, but I can imagine 10,000 more that aren't. Unfortunately in a visual person, visual really means visual I would have to see it. This pic looks good, like I said, the rndom arm isn't too bad, at least there's a part of a body to go with it so expanding on the idea in our heads isn't totally impossible.

Cropping

cheap lingerie buy sexy lingeriesexy lingerie onlinebabydoll nightgownbabydoll salecheap chemiseslace up corsetchemises sleepwear sleepwear for womensexy undewear and lingerie

Job for Reporters

Thanks for the hot tip Chris. It actually came out exactly as you see it here. I was completely amazed at how well it reproduced because our printers are a bit lazy at registering around 1am. I let photoshop screen all 161 photos by itself but each other picture was lovingly (headache-inducingly) placed to reveal the main guy's facial expression.

Critique: Mike Higdon - University of Nevada, Reno

Altering the sizes (columns wide) of the text boxes, and placing the smaller pictures around the page, having them in a column enhances the boxiness of the page. Illustrations are meant to break up the text and here they tend to enhance the 'patterness' of it. I think the left side of the page was a good start it was the three tall columns on the right that threw off the design.

Critique: Jenn LeBlanc - Metropolitan State College of Denver

discount pandorabuy pandoracheap pandoracheap pandora salepandora onlinePandora CharmsPandora Necklaces salePandora BeadsPandora Sets Salepandora

Critique: Jenn LeBlanc - Metropolitan State College of Denver

christian louboutin outlet£¬Cheap christian louboutin£¬christian louboutin discountchristian louboutin slingback christian louboutin christian louboutin wedgeschrisitan louboutin bootslouboutin sneakersChristian Louboutin 100 Stud-embellished Watersnake christian louboutin replica louboutin outlet christian louboutin on sale

Critique: Jenn LeBlanc - Metropolitan State College of Denver

Canadian Goose JacketCanada Goose Jacket SaleCheap Canada Goose JacketCanada Goose Jackets OnlineCanadagooseCanada Goose ShopCanada Goose For SaleCanada Goose BuyGoose JacketCanada Goose Jackets Canada

[New Topic] Critique: Jenn LeBlanc - Metropolitan State College of Denver

Since mom was transported to the Hospice I brought a photograph of my sister, my mom and I to keep her company in case she woke up while we were out of the room.
