I like how the flag is just high enough to be able to see the security guards in the doorway, it would be nice if they were a little more in focus though. But on the other hand the guy on the left is a little distracting and wish I could see less of him.

Thanks. I thought the same thing about the guy on the left. I tend to not notice those things until after. I need to work on that.

Three things come to mind though.
- Faces. I wanna see some faces. Who is this photo about. What do they look like?
- It feels like you are far away/detached from whatever is going on. Get it there!
- Also for something like this, try to shoot something different. Off angle, telephoto, super wide etc.

Not sure if those were the security guards or not. The school would not allow the protestors to get any closer. Regarding focus, I had to shoot with a 2.8 aperture due to low lighting which would not allow me to have the appropriate depth of field. Thanks for the critiques though, I appreciate it.

| Posted: Apr 6 2008, 8:24 am Yeah you can't get a lot of depth with those. Brians right about getting more faces but I can see how it would've been difficult if the protesters had to maintain a certain distance and you still wanted the building in the frame. You might of tried holding your grey card or something in front of the flash so it would only have gotten the flag which I feel is the strongest part of your shot but that can be pretty difficult when you're outside.

Yeah, I like the grey card idea. I'll have to keep that in mind. Thanks.
